Formula BMW USA - Philip Major Set for Second Year of Competition
Ottawa driver finished with pre-season testing
OTTAWA, ONTARIO Ottawa Formula BMW USA driver Philip Major has finished his winter testing program and is now looking forward to the first race of the year, which will be on May 17-18 at Miller Motorsports Park, Utah.

“Our whole Autotecnica Team is ready for the challenge of 2007,” Major said. “We have done a lot of work over the winter and now we are ready to race. The chemistry within the team is fantastic, and I know we’re all excited to get to Miller Motorsports Park for the first race.”

Angleton, Texas – April 23, 2007 - At the end point of the Formula BMW USA testing season, Team Autotecnica Driver, Esteban Gutierrez, from Monterrey, Mexico, impressed this weekend despite his tender years. After an intensive two-day open test session this past weekend at MSR Houston's fast and physical road course with 19 other competitors, the team came away with a huge trove of valuable test data and growing confidence in the skills of his young and talented driver.

Team Autotecnica is happy to announce that Esteban Gutierrez, a 15-year old rookie driver from Monterrey, Mexico has joined the team in its challenge for the 2007 Formula BMW USA Championship. Esteban has sent the past three years racing Rotax karts in Mexico. His various victories in karts have brought him to the Rotax Grand Nationals in the USA and to the World Finals in Malaysia. Esteban is very excited to progress into open wheel racing with Team Autotecnica and Formula BMW USA. In his pre-season test days he has already proven to be naturally fast and sensitive to the car's handling. We look forward to working with Esteban and his coach Gerardo Martinez towards a successful 2007 season.

Ottawa driver lands top seat in Formula BMW USA

Ottawa, Ontario - Returning Formula BMW USA series driver Philip Major has landed in one of the most coveted ‘seats’ in the Formula BMW USA series with the announcement that he has joined Team Autotecnica for the 2007 Formula BMW USA series.

“I am really happy to make this announcement today,” Major said. “Last year I learned so much being part of the Formula BMW series, and this year I am ready to make that step forward and chase the championship,” Major added.
