Philip Major fourth in round three!

Ottawa driver backs up qualifying effort with solid run at Canadian Grand Prix

MONTREAL, QUEBEC Ottawa’s Philip Major is turning some heads this weekend at the Canadian Grand Prix, site of rounds three and four of the Formula BMW USA series. Major practiced fourth on Friday, then put in two solid qualifying efforts to start round 3 in fifth, and tomorrow’s round 4 in fourth.

Earlier this afternoon, round three was held, and Major kept his great weekend going with a solid fourth place finish. The finish was a career best for the young driver.

“It was just a fantastic race for us,” Major said. “We had the pace to run right at the front, and I am very happy with the result. After the disappointment of the first two races, we, as a team decided that Montreal would be the start of our “real” season. Today, Autotecnica gave me a great car, and I know that we’ll be a contender in the second race tomorrow.”

Major knows that tomorrow is a very important race for his whole Autotecnica/www.majorspeed.com team. “It’s important for us to have a good run tomorrow leading up to next weekend’s United States Grand Prix.

Round four of the Formula BMW USA Series is scheduled for 10:45 am on Sunday.
