Monterey, Calif. - May 1, 2005… BMW Junior and Rookie driver Richard Philippe (Team Autotecnica) took a flag-to-flag victory in Round 2 of the 2005 Formula BMW USA Championship today. "It was a well-deserved victory for Team Autotecnica," said Philippe. "Yesterday, I made a mistake and I paid for it. I may pay for it in the points for a long while, but that's racing. Today, I came back to the top and am happy." “Richard is committed and motivated to win, this is the great result of a long and hard winter testing” said Christian Boudon who is Richard’s mentor.

Monterey, Calif. - April 30, 2005… 15-year old BMW Junior and Rookie driver Richard Philippe (Team Autotecnica) continued to show the rest of the 20-car Formula BMW USA field the rear of his Team Autotecnica FB02 as he scored his second pole position of the weekend. "The track was quite green this morning and there was a lot more rubber down from yesterday's Grand Am practice sessions," said Philippe. "We decided to put on two new tires during the session to go for the quick lap and it worked out well."

Polesitter Richard Philippe was knocked off the track on the very first lap and was credited with the final finishing position, completing only 12 laps. He set the fastest lap of the race (1:29.605) on his eighth lap.
Philippe Scores the First Formula BMW USA pole of the season
Monterey, Calif. - April 29, 2005… Under bright blue California skies 15-year old BMW Junior and Rookie driver Richard Philippe (Team Autotecnica) won the first pole position of the 2005 Formula BMW USA Championship season with a 1:30.457 minute lap around the 2.238-mile Laguna Seca circuit. Setting his quick time on his ninth lap, Philippe was never headed for the remainder of the 30-minute session. Behind him, the second and third spots were only decided in the final minutes. "I knew I had a very good car today and it was just a matter of putting a good lap together," said a surprisingly composed Philippe. "It took a few laps to get clear of traffic and I had to make some adjustments due to the change in track conditions from this morning's practice. I could not be more pleased."
