Formula 2000 » OverviewFor nearly 20 years, F2000 has earned its reputation as the entry-level pro series of choice for career-minded open-wheel drivers.
Beginning in 2010, the "new and improved" USF2000 National Championship will again offer a schedule of events that includes road courses, street circuits and oval speedways, all geared towards training young drivers on all three types of circuits. They plan to offer a schedule that features high-profile spectator events, proper PR and marketing opportunities for drivers, a scholarship for the champion to proceed to the next level, and professional-level coaching in both driving techniques and marketing.
They are structuring the program in a cost-effective way to enable teams to offer realistic annual budgets with excellent value, thereby attracting career-minded drivers into the series. They are excited about marketing partnerships they are developing with engine and component manufacturers, and they will work hard to promote our series and our drivers to the media.
The goal of the USF2000 National Championship is to provide a professional, entry-level open-wheel training ground championship serving as the first step on the ladder to an IndyCar career.
The series will train and showcase its drivers as well as prepare aspiring engineers, mechanics and team owners for careers at the higher levels of the sport, while striving to maintain reasonable participant costs and allow team owners to operate at a profit.
